Harnessing The Power Of Health Data To Combat Gun Violence
Amidst a gun violence public health crisis in the United States, siloed and delayed data on firearm injuries and mortalities limits our ability to respond and prevent future occurrences. Health data technologies, such as artificial intelligence, interoperable electronic health records (EHRs), and secure data sharing platforms can provide insights and support informed decision-making on the effectiveness of policies, such as background checks and safe storage laws, and distribution of resources in communities based on need.
