Connecting for Better Health to Share Leadership Insights on Advancing Data, SDOH and Health Equity During HIMSS 2024 Panel Discussion

Connecting for Better Health executive director Timi Leslie will join industry leaders March 13 to share insights on advancing interoperability for better patient health outcomes

LARKSPUR, Calif. – March 7, 2024 – Connecting for Better Health (C4BH), the nonprofit coalition dedicated to advancing data exchange in California, today announced executive director Timi Leslie will join a panel on Wednesday, March 13 at HIMSS 2024 to discuss modernizing health and human services data infrastructure through policies and standards that support social determinants of health (SDOH) and health equity. 

The panel will share insights and lessons learned based on C4BH’s launch of the Data Exchange Framework (DxF) Sandbox. This first-of-its-kind virtual testing environment, launched in collaboration with technology and innovation leader EMI Advisors and key public and private partners in February 2024, allows health and social service organizations participating in California’s DxF to seamlessly plan, design and adjust workflows to fully realize the value and promise of the initiative.

Panel Description:  In today’s complex healthcare landscape, achieving interoperability and breaking down data silos are paramount for delivering efficient and comprehensive health and human services. This panel session brings together industry experts and leaders who have navigated real-world implementation experiences in modernizing data infrastructure to support integrated health and human services while not losing sight of the essential elements of Social Determinants of Health and Health Equity and how they affect health outcomes. Panelists will share their firsthand challenges and bright spots for the future in implementing mechanisms to utilize the best innovations and bridge the divide between technology and real-world impact.
