Industry Responds To Federal HIT Priorities
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ASTP/ONC) received over 1,300 responses to their Request for Information (RFI) on advancing health data exchange and interoperability, providing diverse commentary on TEFCA, digital health apps, and more. In responses, the industry weighed in on the benefits and issues of creating a national provider directory and digital identity solutions while also expressing support for patient access to data, addressing policy barriers for continued TEFCA adoption, and strengthened enforcement of information blocking rules.
